How to use a Hilt Kiosk

How do I Buy/Sell Cryptocurrency at a Hilt Kiosk

  1. You need a mobile phone! 

  2. You need a digital wallet to store your Crypto Coin fortune. You can either use a third party wallet or you can use our free digital wallet in our app called the HILT CLUB. You can search for Hilt Club in the Apple Store (iOS) or the Google Play Store (Android) and download it or simply scan the app QR code at our kiosk. 

  3. If you want to be a playa and buy/sell more than $1000 in Crypto Coins over a 24 hour period you must be verified first and provide your valid identification in either the form of a USA Drivers License or recognized country Passport ID. You can do that directly in our app or on our site at This must be done before using the kiosk.

  4. Select the specific Cryptocurrency Coin Buy/Sell option at your nearest Hilt kiosk 

  5.  To Buy:         
    a. Scan your hot wallet QR code from the Hilt app or any third party digital wallet from your mobile device.
    b. Insert the cash bills (min. $20).
    c. Confirm the transaction by looking in your wallet and seeing your Crypto Coin fortune.

  6. To Sell:
    a. Select the amount of cash you would like to withdraw (min. $20).
    b. Scan the QR code and send us coin from your wallet address using the Hilt app (or any other wallet) from your mobile device.
    c. After receiving a text from us that your cash is ready to dispense, select REDEEM to collect your cash

  7. VERY IMPORTANT: FOR SELLERS OF COIN WHO ARE THINKING THAT THE CASH WILL INSTANTLY FLOW INTO YOUR WAITING ARMS. To verify your coin, the Blockchain (not us) may take up to 30 minutes to confirm your Crypto Coin is real (hopefully more like 10-15 mins). So while you are waiting for this confirmation to get your cash, enjoy a fine beverage or tasty food item at our partner location and chill.  

  8. ANOTHER VERY IMPORTANT ITEM: WHERE TO GRAB YOUR CASH AT THE KIOSK. When you get notified on your phone that the Blockchain has verified your coin and your cash is ready, hit the Redeem button on our kiosk and then look down below to the slot on the lower half of the machine. That is where you cash will dispense. 


Which payment methods do Hilt Kiosks accept?

The Hilt Kiosks accept and dispense only $USD or aka cash.


What denominations/bills do Hilt Kiosks dispense and accept?

We currently dispense cash for coins that you sell to us in denominations of $20 and $100 bills.

If you are buying coins from Hilt, we accept all denominations including $1s, $5s, $10s, $20s and the $Benjamins.


Are languages other than English supported at a Hilt Kiosk?

How do I find a Hilt Kiosk location?

a) On our website, at the top right-hand corner of the screen click 'Locations'. This will bring up a complete list of all Hilt Kiosk locations. Just find your city and pick a kiosk closest to you!


b) On the Hilt app, go to the 'Locations' tab on the bottom of the screen and it will show you a map of all Hilt Kiosk locations near you.

ShapeShift optimizes digital asset exchange by allowing you to quickly swap between cryptocurrencies.


How do I use ShapeShift?

In the Hilt app:

  1. Tap on 'Shapeshift' at the bottom of the screen

  2. Select the Wallets from which you would like to convert

  3. Enter the amount and the type of asset you would like to exchange

    ** Note: It will automatically calculate the amount based on the market rate

  4. Confirm the exchange.



What digital currency can I buy and sell?

Currently you can buy and sell Bitcoin but soon you will be able to do the same for Litecoin, Ethereum, and Bitcoin Cash through any Hilt Kiosk.


What does it cost to use a Hilt Kiosk?

There is an additional % fee per transaction. Additionally on every 'buy' transaction where you buy coins from us, there is a flat $5 per transaction charged due to miner fees, so definitely buy a lot to save more money!

Why should I use a Hilt Kiosk instead of buying and selling through an exchange?

Using Hilt is a safe and trustworthy way to buy and sell your digital currency in real time. It is our #1 priority to protect your account and transactions so that you never have to worry about a risky exchange again.


Is there a maximum I can buy or sell per day?

As a Hilt Club Member, you can buy or sell up to $8,000 per day.

A non-member can buy or sell a maximum of $3,000 per day.


Is there a minimum I can buy or sell per day?

Yes, the minimum is $20. 


How often do the daily transaction limits reset?

Your limit is based on a 24 hour period so if you if you reach your limit during that time, we will look forward to welcoming you back at our kiosk tomorrow.


How do I verify my transaction has been processed?

You can use a block explorer such as to verify that your digital currency has been processed. Insert your hot wallet address into the search field and view a complete list of digital currency transactions that you have received.


What do I do if I don’t see my BUY transaction in my wallet?

Once you see the “Transaction Completed” screen, your buy transaction should be processed immediately. If you do not see your transaction in your wallet within a few minutes, check to make sure your network connection is strong and then refresh your wallet. If this does not work, contact us at customer support.

How does Hilt verify my identity?

When using our kiosk, you will need to verify your identity following these steps:

  1. Enter your mobile number.

  2. Enter the verification code sent as a SMS message to your mobile number.

  3. Upload photo of the front of your state-issued ID.

  4. Upload photo of the back of your state-issued ID.

  5. Upload a clear photo of your face.

  6. Enter your country and home address.

  7. Agree to the Terms of Use and Submit.
