Hawaii's new rules change how crypto kiosks work starting October 1, 2026. Hilt has a new way to buy crypto with cash that keeps everything you loved about your local Hilt kiosk.

What Changed (and Why)

Starting October 1, 2026, Hawaii law (Act 224) no longer allows crypto kiosks to accept cash deposits for cryptocurrency purchases. It's a consumer-protection measure aimed at reducing fraud at unattended machines.

The good news: the law applies to kiosks and ATMs — not to a purchase you start online and complete in person with a Hilt cashier. That's our new process, and it's built to give you the same cash-based buying experience with an extra layer of verification and support.
